The Various Fee Structures in Wealth Management Practices
Join us for an intriguing discussion with a diverse panel of experienced professionals on the varying strategies of fee structures in wealth management practices and the direction of the industry. The discussion will review the most commonly used fee structure models and explore alternatives such as retainer fee structures and subscription models. Panelists will address the pros and cons of each structure, and discuss methods for evaluating a new fee structure as well as offer some ideas on integrating new models into existing practices.

Anna Sergunina, CFP®, Principal, MainStreet Financial Planning, Inc.
Anna Sergunina is a Certified Financial Planner CFP® and a Principal at MainStreet Financial Planning, Inc. (MSFP). MSFP is an hourly Fee-Only financial planning company headquartered in Odenton, Maryland with offices in Washington, D.C., New York, NY, San Mateo, CA and Santa Barbara CA. She is a registered investment adviser representative in Maryland, District of Columbia, New York, Virginia and California. The firm also serves clients in other states and several countries using Skype and other internet technologies. Ms. Sergunina has been involved in financial services industry since 2003. A graduate of Towson University with a degree in Business Administration and concentration in Finance, she earned the right to use the CFP® mark from the CFP Board of Standards in 2009. Also, Ms. Sergunina holds a specialty designation as Chartered Federal Employee Benefit Consultant (ChFBC) in order to better assist federal employee clients with planning and understanding of their federal benefits.
David Hansen, Managing Director, Sentry
David Hansen has 35 years of experience in the financial services industry. The first 23 years were spent on the trading side specializing in futures, options and equities with a focus on program trading, index arbitrage and related strategies. He was head trader at a proprietary trading firm which he co-founded and was also responsible for operations, risk management and capital allocation. The most recent 6 years he has been working with a Bay Area family office, SF Sentry, focused on leveraging their business infrastructure and economies of scale to attract joint venture opportunities.
David received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Ithaca College, Ithaca, New York.
Michael Powsner, CFP®, CPA
Michael Powsner is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner™ with deep experience in stock options and restricted stock planning. He is also a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), the designation awarded to less than 1% of CPAs who specialize in financial planning. He founded Upstart Wealth Management in 2014.
Michael learned his craft during a decade at some of the top public accounting and wealth management firms in the country. He is well-versed in the tax and financial implications of non-qualified stock options, incentive options, restricted stock units, and 83B elections.Financial planning, investment and risk management, tax preparation, retirement, trust and estate planning are all part of his portfolio. Michael graduated cum laude with a degree in accounting from Binghamton University.
